Kathi Vian leads IFTF's Ten-Year Forecast Program, which is a broad scan of the emerging global environment, focusing on the intersection of new economic forces, changing environmental realities, and new social practices. She is the author of the annual Map of the Decade, which summarizes the most important trends and insights from each year's research across the Institute.
Jane McGonigal, Game Director
Jane McGonigal is the director of game research and development at IFTF, where she focuses on how games can improve global quality of life and change the way we do work and organize society. She is also an award-winning game designer (www.avantgame.com) whose previous projects include The Lost Ring (2008), World Without Oil (2007) and Cruel 2 B Kind (2006).
Jamais Cascio, Scenario Director
Jamais Cascio, noted blogger (www.openthefuture.com) and futurist, is a research affiliate at IFTF, where he writes about the intersection of emerging technologies, environmental dilemmas, and cultural transformation. He specializes in the creation of plausible scenarios of the future, and his work focuses on the importance of long-term, systemic thinking, with a particular emphasis on building a more open and resilient society.
