A Step in the Right Direction

Iran and India rethink their energy use
Catalina

We have finally convinced India and Iran to get on board with working toward a unified energy goal. India is willing to stop rapid, careless industrialization with the promise from GUN members of funds for green energy capabilities. They will be able to use the technology that has been discovered by the United States and some European countries rather than having to develop their own. The new plan will provide jobs for many people and redirect the use of energy. All new industrialization in India will meet green energy standards and a plan to retrofit existing problems will be introduced by the end of the year.

Iran has agreed to stop selling their energy on the black market and work with GUN members on a way to use their energy the best way for the planet. Iran is going to be compensated for their loss of income by donations raised through GUN from many participating countries. Iranian leaders have agreed to look out for the best interest of the planet. They will be provided military and economic protection from the United States, Japan, and some European countries.

We hope that with the commitment of these two nations, others will see that the only way to save humanity is through cooperation. We must elevate underdeveloped countries and make decisions that reflect the needs of the entire population, not just the needs of one country.

If they have to be paid to use green energy, something is horribly wrong. We have developed green energy incorrectly. Starting in late 2008 when the commodity prices fell with the US stock markets, silicon became cheaper than it had been in many, many years. Photovoltaic manufacturing took off due to consumer demand for electricity they didn't have to pay a proverbial arm and a leg for. As a result, many buildings in the United States already had the PV power they needed, which caused the manufacturers to turn to countries other than USA, Canada, and most of Europe in order to find a market. Iran is not an underdeveloped country. Fundamentalist, yes. A bit ornery, definitely. Underdeveloped? No. And Iran is an excellent place to gather solar thermal energy due to their being on approximately the same latitude as Texas. Also, given the trouble the UN gave (mostly under the direction of the USA) about developing nuclear energy, green energy should've been a logical next step in diversifying their influence on the energy industry. This development just doesn't make any sense. I need more history.
